Oldboy
Plot: With nothing on his mind for 20 years except for vengeance, a man is freed, and is determined to find out why he was kidnapped and locked in solitary confinement for all those years.
Review: Oldboy is a pretty decent movie up until the ending which shows us just how messed up the movie's villain (Sharlto Copley; District 9) really is. It starts off with Joe (Josh Brolin) as a businessman with problems at home and a drinking problem as he has to go to work with spiking his drink full of vodka. He then goes on an important meeting with a client and hits on his wife, then drunkenly walks to his friend Chucky's (Michael Imperioli; The Sopranos) restaurant for more drinks until he is knocked out cold and wakes up with no possessions in a motel room that's locked with no way out. Days go by, then weeks, then months and years. Totally unsure of the real reason why he is locked up. Shortly after his incarceration, he finds out that his wife was brutally raped and murdered and he was framed for it. He just realized he lost his family and seeks vengeance for what happened. Eventually he gets released and tries to find out why he was imprisoned, and who set this all up.
Josh Brolin is pretty good as Joe. Showing us just how crazy one man can become after being locked up in a room for two decades. Elizabeth Olsen is pretty decent as Marie, a nurse who helps out Joe find out who put him away. Samuel L. Jackson plays Chaney, more of a prison guard who took care of the prisoners that Joe was held. Sharlto Copley plays the main villain and his character is a pretty creepy guy. But overall, Oldboy is a decent flick and worth the watch. Just be warned, the ending is quite messed.
