Oculus
Plot: After her brother is released from a mental hospital, a woman decides to prove to him that it was an evil mirror that killed their parents, not him.
Review: For a horror movie, Oculus wasn't too bad, but still could have been better. If you want to watch a better horror story about an evil mirror, check out Keifer Sutherland's Mirrors that came out in the early 2000s. But Oculus still does prove to be scary in some circumstances. It all starts off with Tim being released from a mental health clinic where he has been for 11 years. He was there before because he believes an evil mirror possessed his father and mother to kill him and his sister Kaylie (Karen Gillan), but he killed his father in self defense. No one believed them, but Kaylie still did and got the mirror from a silent auction and put it back into the old house and setup cameras to do a paranormal investigation with the mirror. Crazy stuff happens and during that time, the movie also shows what happened during Tim and Kaylie's first encounter with the mirror and how it took over their parents.
Oculus is a decent horror flick, but could have been better. It isn't nearly as creepy as 2013's The Conjuring, but is still a good movie to check out.
