Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Plot: Recovered from a back injury, newly recruited Jack Ryan goes on his first mission with the CIA.

Review:

The film starts off with Jack Ryan as a soldier in a helicopter returning to base after a mission. He unstraps himself to help another soldier when the chopper crashes and he breaks his back. After months of recovery, he is recruited by a CIA agent named Harper. Harper then signs him on to a mission where he needs to complete school, and work undercover in a Wall Street. While there, Ryan uncovers a potential terrorist threat involving Russians. The Russians want to crash the American economy through a terrorist attack. It's up to Jack Ryan to stop them.

This movie has great action, and is slightly better than The Sum Of All Fears. Although I would not choose Chris Pine as the lead, he did do a decent job as the CIA analyst. Kevin Costner was awesome as Harper. He was basically the mentor and backup to Ryan during his mission. Keira Knightly played Ryan's girlfriend. Her character basically forced her way to Russia because she was suspicious of her boyfriend having an affair. She did a good job acting. The bad guy was played by director Kenneth Branagh as Victor. He was pretty evil and very convincing as a villain. This is a decent flick and well worth the viewing!
