Cold Comes The Night

Plot: The owner of a motel and her daughter are struggling to get by until a near blinded career criminal uses them to help get some cash that's been collected by crooked cops.

Review: Cold Comes The Night could have been a much better movie. For starters, Bryan Cranston was just fresh off of Breaking Bad and staring in his first movie since Breaking Bad. But as Topo, the career criminal who is blind from a foreign country, let's just say its nothing comparable to Heisenburg. First of all, the accent. I almost laughed out loud at the accent because it just wasn't believable. Plus his character wasn't all that scary. Alice Eve could have done a much better job as Chloe. She tries to act tough but it just doesn't seem realistic enough.

The movie started off with Chloe living in a motel that she owns with her daughter. The motel isn't exactly 5 stars and has frequent visitors from prostitutes, to drug dealers. Then comes Topo (Bryan Cranston) and his business associate who are dropping off money to their boss. They decide to crash at the motel until the associate decides to get a hooker, she kills him and their car gets impounded into evidence by the cops. So Topo then holds a gun to Chloe and takes Chloe and her daughter at gunpoint to try and help him get his money back. It sounds like a good story, but the acting just needs a bit of work. It's a decent movie, but could have been way better.
