Conan: The Barbarian

Plot: After being enslaved by a brutal sorcerer, Conan is freed and seeks revenge against the sorcerer for killing his tribe and family.
Review: 1982's Conan The Barbarian is Arnold's Schwarzenegger's first big movie. It's got some pretty good action, a few laughs, and a decent story. The one thing it does lack is the acting. Arnold was formerly only known as a bodybuilder at the time and his English wasn't the greatest, but he doesn't really have that many lines. The story begins with Conan as a boy living with his family and a small tribe that gets attacked by a sorcerer called Thursa Doom (James Earl Jones), who kills Conan's parents and his tribe, enslaving Conan to hard labour for many years. Conan is eventually turned into a Gladiator, then freed and is now looking to seek revenge against Thurma Doom.
The acting is fairly decent. Arnold wasn't really that great in the acting department, but made up for it with a few laughs and some good action scenes. The only other big name actors are James Earl Jones as Thurma Doom and Mox von Sydow as King Osric. They don't have a major role, but are in a couple of important scenes. Conan is entertaining for most scenes, but does have a few boring ones. But if you want to watch the movie that started Arnold's career, I recommend Conan The Barbarian.
